Wigtown’s booksellers were very sad to learn of the death of Ian Langford, one of the first booksellers in the town.

Ian ran the Corner Bookshop – now the Open Book – from 1997 with his wife Angela. They also set up a respected publishing house specialising in wildlife art, working with local artists like Lisa Hooper. It is particularly sad given 2018 is the 20th anniversary of Wigtown becoming Scotland’s National Booktown and the Langfords played an important role in those early years.
